FAQ’S

Buying Handmade

The joy of buying handmade is knowing that every piece is unique.

Our work will have signs of being handmade and no two items will be the same. Size and colour can vary from item to item. All measurements are approximate. The 22k gold is hand painted on and brushstrokes can be seen at times.

Is everything here handmade?

Yes of course! Everything here is handmade by Laura McNamara in her home studio in beautiful Dungarvan, Ireland. Each piece is individually made by me and then fired at least twice in the kiln, three times for the gold lustre, Read more on the My Story page.

Is your jewellery made from polymer clay?

Defiantly not! All the materials we use are 100% natural and plastic free. The clay we use comes from the ground and is not made in a factory.

What packaging do you use?

Any packaging that I buy is natural and recyclable. Our jewellery is packaged in cardboard boxes or organic cotton pouches. As much as possible we re-use and recycle packaging products for shipping so expect random outer boxes. We ask that when possible you reuse this packaging to extend the life of packaging materials! We get much of our reusable packaging from our friends at the Greenway Eco Store. Yes we do use bubble wrap that has been pre-used, I believe that it is better to reuse then put it into landfill. I hope you agree!

What are your shipping and delivery polices?

Please see our Shipping page.

Care For Your Ceramics

Ceramics can be carefully dusted. If your piece has gold lustre avoid rubbing the gold lustre with abrasives.

Care For Your Jewellery

All our jewellery is individually handmade from fine porcelain clay. Please don’t wear me in bed! Unlike you a prefer a hard surface to rest on.

What are the metal parts made from?

  • Our stud earrings use sterling silver and stainless steel ear posts.
  • Our chains are sterling silver and gold plated.
  • Our dangle earring hooks are sterling silver or gold filled. (Gold filled is a thick layer of gold and is more hard-wearing then gold plated)

How do I clean my jewellery?

To clean the porcelain use a soft cloth and water. Be careful not to scrub the pieces as this may cause the gold lustre to fade. Sterling silver can be polished. Gold plated chains should not be cleaned or the gold colour will be removed. It’s best to try to keep your jewellery away from perfumes or other chemicals to avoid de-colourisation.
